6th Workshop on Logistics and Supply Chain Management

Quantitative Approaches for Supply Chain Improvement

October 5 to 7, 2009, Claremont Resort & Spa

You are cordially invited to participate in an international workshop on Logistics and Supply Chain Management
organized by RWTH Aachen University in cooperation with the University of California, Berkeley.
The first three workshops of this series were held in Berkeley from 2003 to 2005, while the fourth workshop took place in Hamburg 2006.
The fifth workshop took place in Berkeley again, and also the sixth one will be held in the Claremont Resort & Spa, Berkeley.

Maintaining the tradition of the former workshops, one primary goal is to bring together people
who are interested in the academic/practitioner-interface of Logistics and SCM.
Therefore, most presentations will be given by industry leaders who collaborate with academic researchers
and by faculty with an active consulting practice in SCM.

Focus and Topics

This workshop focuses on quantitative approaches for supply chain improvement, and is tentatively structured around the following topic sessions:

·         Quantitative approaches in the strategic, tactical and operational planning phase of successful supply chains

·         Multi-criteria analysis and design of supply chain processes considering criteria such as performance (KPI's), reliability, efficiency, flexibility and costs

·         Use of IT-systems, e.g. Advanced Planning Systems for the improvement of supply chains in different industries
